A Loved One Will Be Missed
As many of you have heard our CEO and President Jon Aikele passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. We greatly appreciate all the tokens and words of consolation that we have received. Jon was a very generous man both personally and professionally and he will be greatly missed. While we are all reeling from this loss, we are also taking steps to insure that his vision for the company is not lost. We would like to thank all the Roofmax employees, for their loyalty and dedication during this difficult time.

Even Seattle is Going Solar
So many industries are going solar. The interesting part about this article is that even in Seattle where it is cloudy 201 days of the year, they are installing solar panels and generating their own electricity. This article talks about how it doesn’t really matter how much sun your area gets, you can still benefit from generating your own energy through solar panels.

Benefits of a Family Business
This article discusses the benefits of owning and operating a family business. It was appealing to us, because Roofmax has been family owned and operated for almost 24 years. Jon and Timme started the business in 1987. All three of their children have worked with the business at some point or another. And although the business has grown to beyond family, Roofmax is a family in itself.

Khol’s is going solar!
Here is an article showing how Khol’s is going solar! They plan to be completely carbon neutral by the end of 2010. Inspiring isn’t it? It is amazing how much their business is saving on electrical costs by generating their own electricity: $50 million! You can save, too.
